The main character is a black guy who is fighting for his survival, earning money on the streets of his neighborhood, selling drugs, committing robberies, murders and other illegal actions. His life is literally one continuous "black" streak. Is there a way out?

In the 80s - early 90s, films of this direction were not uncommon, reflecting the problems of black neighborhoods and interracial relationships in America. All of them are quite similar in plot and, as a rule, in a sad outcome.

At one time, such films were very interesting, therefore, when the other day I came across this picture, I was surprised that I was not familiar with it, although I knew its parody very well ('Do not threaten South Central').

The film is solid, many black "brothers" swear with selected swearing words, communicate in slang, drink, smoke weed, rob and kill everyone who upset them too much. True, something in him is not as it seemed to me. And the reason for this, in my opinion, was that it was decided to shove too many problems into an hour and a half film. Therefore, most of them do not allow themselves to be felt, understood, do not have time to open up. And the film is serious, about a difficult and very difficult life in the ghetto. Perhaps this is good, they managed to show us everything, they say, but what you thought, but only a little bit, but in the end it doesn't catch on, doesn't make us think. Well, and to top it all off, a tragic end, which you hardly feel, but seems to be necessary.

You can watch the film if you like such a theme, and, most likely, it will make an impression, since the film is quite naturalistic, cruel and multifaceted, but my opinion is that everything that they wanted to convey to the viewer is an extremely difficult task to complete in an hour and a half.
