Four 15-year-old friends spend the summer of 1984 on an unusual activity: they track down a serial killer who has been operating in the district for several years in a row. All evidence leads to a neighbor's house where a respected policeman lives.

Mid-80s, a small suburb, a group of teenagers who are as unlike each other as possible, but at the same time have common interests. The most beautiful girl in the city, music corresponding to the era, as well as the few, but still available references to the pop culture of that wonderful era. Doesn't it look like anything? If you include this film, but at the same time do not look at the title, it may seem that this is a film in the universe of "Stranger Things", or another work by Stephen King, in the style of "It". But no, this is an original picture, with its own plot.

While a small town lives its own life, against the background of all everyday events, events take place much more terrible. Someone kills the children, and the group of protagonists suspects not anyone, but a respected police officer next door. He lives his solitary life, has a bachelor day schedule, and is a good-natured person who doesn't seem to hurt a fly. But how far is a child's fantasy ready to go, and is it fantasy at all?

In the first act, the cinema is gaining momentum slowly, the personalities of the main characters are revealed, we are immersed in the everyday entertainment of adolescents, as well as in their family problems. In the background, pleasant music plays, which sets the color for the mood. I would like to note that the scenery, and in general the environment that creates the atmosphere, everything is done very soundly and with love. At some point, you even forget that you are in front of a thriller, because the film does not show this in any way.

But now, starting from the middle, and until the very end, the film turns into a real, bloody, detective thriller.

As the main characters are personally investigated, very sad facts emerge, and the film begins to slowly plunge the viewer into suspense, accompanied by appropriate, crushing music.

The ending of the picture is completely surprising, it is atypical, and certainly not what you expect with the children in the lead roles.

This is a very high-quality representative of the genre, smeared with pleasant music, as well as, surprisingly, good acting. Recommended for all fans of the genre.
