The script really sharpens the multi-faceted and hitherto unused character of the journalist; she is more important to this story than Superman himself, since most of the animated film is shown through her relationship with the hero. This is probably the best image of Lois Lane on the screen in general: stubborn, resolute, purposeful. It forms a beautiful central element of the story on which the plot rests.
