Film Description
The life of the charismatic adventurer Captain Jack Sparrow, full of exciting adventures, changes abruptly when his nemesis Captain Barbossa kidnaps Jack's ship the Black Pearl, and then attacks Port Royal and steals the governor's beautiful daughter Elizabeth Swann.

Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner, along with Jack, leads a rescue expedition on the fastest ship in Britain to rescue the girl and at the same time take away the Black Pearl from the villain. This couple is followed by the ambitious Commodore Norrington, who is also listed as Elizabeth's fiancé.

However, Will does not know that an eternal curse hangs over Barbossa, turning him and his team into living skeletons in the moonlight. The curse will only be lifted when the stolen Aztec gold is returned by the pirates to its old place.

4k movies reviews
This film made an impression on me immediately after the first viewing, in August 2003, after which the next followed, and so quietly, quietly, imperceptibly, I probably approached the mark of ten views. In principle, it's worth it, this film can already be called a legend, and watching such films is a pleasure.

And now we can also compare it with the sequel, but someone seriously thinks that the sequel came out better than the first episode. I, of course, do not agree with this, but I will not argue, everyone has their own opinion, and the euphoria from watching (views) "Dead Man's Chest" will pass and people will take a sober look at "The Curse of the Black Pearl" and will understand that the second part is not even close worth it, but it is also a top-class product.

The first film is better, maybe not in everything, but in the humor and plot for sure, and also such a banal sign as novelty, in the second part we saw only a sequel, a slightly different story with the same characters, and in the first film, it was all new , and moments of genius. When I speak brilliantly in relation to this film, then, of course, I mean Jack Sparrow in the incredible performance of Johnny Depp.

This is one of his best roles, from the very beginning it was performed with the highest degree of genius, from the first appearance on the screen from the minute to the eighth, when he was sailing on a small boat, flowing through all the cracks, to excellent music - a completely capturing episode, one of the best in everything. film. And his first step to Port Royal, an English colony in the Caribbean. And then it began ...

All the genius of the image of Jack Sparrow is beyond words, so we watch this film and revise it over and over again, and expect to continue. Moreover, the second part is Jack's benefit performance, and in the first and besides Jack there was a lot of interesting things.

I have already said about humor, plot, music. And also Captain of the "Black Pearl" Barbossa, some minor characters and among the pirates of Barbosa and among Jack's crew. To this you can add Jack's appearance in the city of Torturra, meeting with old girlfriends and friends. Or repeated scenes when Barbossa and Sparrow are in the same frame. All these and other episodes can only be admired, because they do not get boring and remain in the memory.

The plot of the first part is much more interesting than the plot of the sequel, besides, the ship is full of skeletons under the moonlight, where the ship from the team is superior in the form of sea monsters. Special effects here and there are at a high level.

Pirate films now appear on the screens of the world a little, and no one can surpass "Pirates of the Caribbean", because there is even a romantic story between Elizabeth and William, the only problem for them is that it is relegated to the background, otherwise , thanks to the excellent performance of the pirates of their roles.

Young Bloom and Knightley could not maintain the level of their senior colleagues, I would say that it is forgivable for them, if their role were not so important for the director and producers, and in the eyes of ordinary fans of this film, they are not visible, they have swum far beyond the horizon, only, unfortunately, sometimes they appear on the screen saying important phrases, for me these characters are superfluous.

You can talk about Bloom separately, his goal is to play a simpleton, revolving around the main character, sometimes trying to throw out an incredible and very daring trick, in the first part he still copes with the role of a simpleton in episodes, but when he tries to play a man, everything fails, it doesn't suit him, that's how I should run my whole career in Paris' skirt. And in the second part they are already trying to make him a serious man, to give him a chance to steer at the head of the film, but they think about it in time, because he cannot block Jack, and he does not want to be funny, but he could try, maybe a fool friend with the main character is his role ?

Very little screen time is allocated to the Knightley-Bloom duo, I mean when they are together, and for this I must say a special thanks to the filmmakers, this does not allow turning the film into a love story of two childhood friends, but, damn it, from time to time they turn out to be in one shot, and these shots can easily be called not the most interesting for the whole film, in the sense of acting, because these young actors do not show anything extraordinary.

Plowing the ocean, shooting cannons (even with forks), robbing ships and ports is the lot of pirates, and after they also appear on the screen under a magnificent production by Verbinski, this is a real movie. The spark from the sensations is getting stronger, the film practically does not let you break away from it for two and a half hours of viewing, with the exception of the Knightley Bloom episodes, but this does not interfere so much with watching a movie when Jack Sparrow appears on the screen from second to second.

The film really deserves only flattering reviews. The ending of the film, although romantic, is much better than in the second part, when I did not see the ending, it was simply not thought up there - this is the main and very big minus of the second part, but now the conversation is not about it, because the first part ended in a very rating , I do not mean the MPAA rating, but the main thing is over - this is a cobblestone in the sequel's garden.

You will remember this film as the best, in which Captain Jack Sparrow was almost hanged.
