A young couple travels out of town to spend a romantic weekend on the shores of Paradise Lake, away from people, in the wild woods. Steve and Jenny plan to get married, live long and die on the same day. Neither of them thought how the trip would end.

The movie, made me think of the 1993 picture Good Son, also about child cruelty. And it shocked me no less than the aforementioned one. I couldn't sleep for a long time. Specially registered on the site to speak out.

Let me repeat the word shock, which appears in other reviews, but I can't find another word. To write that I liked it, my fingers do not obey. Can a normal person like to watch the suffering and martyrdom, even if it is a movie hero. After watching it, I found myself forgetting that it was just a movie. Happening on the screen, captured and kept in suspense and empathy for the young married couple, from the first scene of their meeting with a gang of teenagers.

Yes, it's wild. Yes, violent. Yes, I wanted the movie to end more happily, like the aforementioned 'Good Son'. We're used to seeing evil punished in most movie endings. But in life, alas, it's not like that. Are there not enough horrifying moments, terrible crimes, we see almost every day in the criminal chronicles? Are few people die, few destinies are broken at the hands of juvenile and adult subhumans?

In my opinion, a very competent, real, without emphasis on the display of bloody scenes, as in the classic 'horror' movie. As it is - so it is.
