Freak show, nothing more.
'Toob Hooper? Did Toob Hooper really make this? The same one who made the first movie? No way! - Those were the thoughts that haunted me throughout the film. In fact, I didn't even find a picture here. And to call it a horror with elements of black humor language does not dare. Neither black, nor 'white', nor any humor is observed, except for cheap attempts to create it, which, frankly, has not turned out. From the very beginning to the last minutes the movie is stupid. Whichever way you look at it - directing, camerawork, acting - everything is a mess.

The camerawork. It looks more like a 'home video'. Or maybe he does not exist, the cameraman, and they filmed whoever had to, one by one? If they decided to make a sequel to the acclaimed slasher, they should have taken care of a good (not to mention great) cameraman, and the viewer, unfortunately, was shown an unprofessional 'amateur' footage.

Actors. It's something! It just amazes me how 'talented' they have to be to be able to wriggle their way into a role like that. That the main character with her unnaturally bulging eyes and faked screams, that the clan of cannibals with their wacky antics - everything evokes not even a laugh, but the feeling that you're watching some trashy comic book. And when you watch the behavior of the maniacs, you begin to wonder who has a problem with their heads - the film's characters or its creators, who made them so idiotic that, perhaps, real maniacs would be shocked by what they see.

The director. This is a separate topic altogether. It's hard to believe that Hooper, who directed the first, quite successful film that ushered in a new era in movie genres, made a completely uninteresting, ludicrous, incomprehensible and other 'not' sequel. I wish he hadn't done that. It would have been wiser to put a period to 1974 than to make a pathetic parody of his own successful film so many years later.

I got through this movie in four tries. I didn't have enough energy to watch it in one time. My initial goal was to see a sequel in the spirit of the original, I was disappointed, because the film, as they say, is about nothing. I wouldn't advise even the fans of the sequels, slasher fans and fans of the thrillers to watch it, it's not worth the time.
