Lin-Manuel Miranda is now in very good standing in Hollywood. The historical musical 'Hamilton' brought him worldwide fame and recognition, but in America they started talking about him after his first major Broadway production - 'At the height of a dream' (the original title 'In the Heights' also plays on the scene - the Washington DC area Heights). Already in the year of the premiere of the musical on theatrical venues, Hollywood bosses began to chase the rights to the film adaptation, and now thirteen years later, having changed studios and directors, the film adaptation was released. All these years have been worth it.

"At the height of a dream" - material very easy to transfer to large screens. The plot raises a variety of eternal topics: the conflict between fathers and children, the question of self-identification, social problems, the crisis of life values. The beauty of Miranda's creation is that it succeeds in implementing this entire list, and the film adaptation has not lost this over the years of its journey to the viewer.

It may be a very American story, but it is capable of captivating any audience. 'At the height of a dream' is an urban ballad to the core, touching the heart of the viewer and sinking into his soul. The energy of the film is capable of melting the glaciers, but it's so good that it came out in the summer - the mood transmitted from the screen is felt even more powerfully in the hot season. Director John M. Chu clearly felt at ease and caught a creative wave when working on the tape. The dynamics of the picture does not give a single failure for almost two and a half hours of timing, constantly holding the viewer by the hand and starting a dance with him, skillfully changing its rhythm from episode to episode.

At the moment, 'At the height of a dream' is one of the main events of the film season and certainly the brightest. It's literally a modern classic. Not only the musical genre, but cinema in general. The brainchild of Lin-Manuel Miranda brings the most sincere and pure messages to this world, and thanks to the production of John M. Chu is now able to start a dialogue with even more people. It is almost impossible to remain indifferent to the great musical component and pompous visuals.
