No matter who, you were at school and what people thought about you. You can change your name, move to another city, plow like a horse and succeed. And you can stay and think that since you are a school star, you are now automatically provided with vital benefits. Nobody cares. Because the adult life puts everything in its place. As in this film.

"Central Intelligence" - it is an unremarkable comedy, of which there are many. In particular, most of the latest films with Kevin Hart are made in the same spirit and are no less funny: both 'Trip Together', and its sequel 'Mission to Miami', and 'Shafer for Rent'. Macho and Nerd, The Kind of Cops, and many other comedies of recent times have the same style. A lot of clichés, monotonous humor, a banal concept. Nevertheless, such films need to be released. They cannot be taken seriously - you need to relax and have fun while listening to them. Excessive nit-picking and skepticism will only harm the impressions and will look somewhat silly in the context of reviews of such tapes.

So we have a lot of Dwayne Johnson and some Kevin Hart. It's about their dimensions and not at all about screen parties. We have to admit that the guys have created an exceptionally successful duet, which is a pleasure to watch. The chemistry between the main characters in such cases is one of the main factors for the success of the picture, and here it is fully present. It was definitely the right move to make the heroes friends - no hostility characteristic of such films, no competition, which in the end, of course, would develop into a strong friendship. Here we have an initial mutual respect. Among other things, the creators do not step on the same rake, which the first time accidentally, and the second time deliberately hit the writers of 'Macho and the nerd'. There is no excessive sentimentality, motives of betrayal of platonic love and other nonsense that would harm an entertaining comedy movie. There are small hints, of course, but they do not greatly affect the course of the narrative and are limited to the elementary 'bro, I was blackmailed, and I turned you in, sorry' and the like. The film has a sense of proportion - nowhere does it slide down to complete absurdity and does not abuse the stereotyped methods of influencing the viewer, such as deliberate depth and emotionality.

Hart plays Hart. A damn charismatic one-role actor who might well rival Eddie Murphy in his prime. It seems like the same image of a silly loser that was in 'Trip Together', the same antics, but I really like this image - bright, fun and perky. Dwayne Johnson in his traditional role of a tough guy related to the special services. Bold, unflappable, with a great sense of humor and unexpectedly sensual. It is in those episodes where Scala is trying to portray a naive brother-in-law or to play resentment that he looks the most stupid, but still funny. This is not to say that the actor has a strong dramatic or even comedic talent. He's just a nice guy who looks great in entertainment films, and that's probably enough.

The script is stupid to the point. You see, the awkward fat man, who has always been the object of rude ridicule, pulled himself together, became a muscular macho, and even an intelligence agent. Moreover, to unleash problems, he needed a humble accountant, who once defended him at school. That is, for twenty years of a wide variety of activities, a highly qualified specialist has not found more solid connections to resolve his financial issues? Or did he suddenly wake up friendly feelings for an almost stranger? Okay, a valid option, but not in the same number of years. And that is not all. This very accountant is obliged to be 'in business' to the end, because without him supposedly nothing, although it is not clear what he can do at all. And this is how this couple dragged around with each other throughout the movie. We are not loaded with unnecessary explanations, we are offered a plot 'if only it was', but for some reason we pay money for it and manage to have fun? That's right, the script doesn't matter in these films. Almost absolutely. After all, if he is also good, then some critics or, say, foreign journalists can even classify such a movie as a masterpiece (last year's 'Spy' with Melissa McCarthy is a good example). "One and a half [spy]" does not pretend to be superfluous. They perform the main function assigned to them - to entertain. There are a lot of jokes, the viewer likes it, the money is earned.

Although there are a lot of jokes, in general, the norm of humor is observed. Most of it is the charisma of the two lead actors, which is really great. Characters that are well written, close and understandable to the viewer can pull the whole picture on their shoulders. Apart from the heroes of Hart and Johnson, there is not much to look at here. The episodic roles of Jason Bateman, it is not clear in what ways Aaron Paul wandered in here and another actress (do not see the full list of actors - this is a cameo surprise) do not distract attention from the main duo, which once again emphasizes how successful he is in all respects. There is no humor on the verge of a foul in the film. Spy One and a Half is a very cautious movie, and not only in terms of the comedic element. In it, even in skirmishes, no one dies. It seems that the studio really wanted to get the softest rental rating.

So, 'Spy One and a Half' is a silly, but rather funny and positive film. Good entertainment that will appeal to lovers of simple, unobtrusive comedies. After all, a great option to spend time with friends. A light pleasant atmosphere, colorful characters and their extremely well-designed interaction on the screen will be able to amuse you this summer.
