4k movies reviews
The first thing to note, including from reading the reviews above, is that Buzz Lightyear from 'Toy Story' and Buzz Lightyear from his solo novel are two different characters, and they absolutely do not need to have the same characters.

Now, the review:

First of all, this is a very, very beautiful cartoon. The artists, animators, lighting and sound are all top notch.

Second, it's a story about a 'needy veteran' who can't do anything else but fly around in space and protect the colonists. And when he makes a mistake, guilt gnaws at him, because at first he thinks that his mistake will cost the death of all those he protects.

But when he succeeds and thinks that his mission has been saved, it turns out that his feat is no longer necessary - the people have adapted and settled in, and he has been left on the margins of life. And so we come to the first sentence - he is an 'unnecessary veteran,' left on the sidelines of life.

And it is precisely because of this that the conflict of hero and villain arises. Because Buzz Lightyear has managed to overcome himself and realize that not all mistakes are bad, and that you have to grow on yourself and, at times, change your worldview. And he does, and he does it well.

Secondary Characters:

Kitty: 'If I had a cat like that, I might never have gotten married.' He steals every minute of screen time, and he does it quite deservedly. In 'Interstellar' it was Tars, in 'Star Wars' it was R2D2, and here it's Sox. And it's great.

Hawthorne, and both of them: it's a shame that conformism and backstabbing have caused many to turn their backs on the cartoon just because of Alisha's love preferences. But what can you do. What people, what laws. I, on the other hand, didn't notice that kiss at all, was and was, it's perfectly normal. But to accept that people can love the wrong person, our society needs to love itself first, and that's not what this review is about.

Regarding the granddaughter: the classic 'conforming to authority' situation, but at the end realizes that you have to not 'be like her' but 'be who you are'. And that's a good thing.

Duet of a bumbling man and an elderly repeat offender: a great comic character divided into two. One is kind, wants to help, but is clumsy. The second one is good at a lot of things, but doesn't really want to help, though she's also kind at heart.

The secondary characters are not revealed much, and they are needed here more for pushing the plot forward and a few 'growth points' of Buzz. But if they were revealed, the cartoon could have dragged on.

The villain isn't really revealed either, and that's a spoiler. I'll just say 'I like you better this time'. That's the villain.

Action and Plot: I don't really like time travel plots because they are sometimes full of logical holes. But here I didn't want to be picky. The action is suspenseful in places, despite the fact that this is a 12+ (or 6+, I don't follow the labels) cartoon. At times you get worried about the characters.

By the way, back to the picture and 'Star Wars'.

The cartoon, I repeat, is very beautiful. On top of that, it is technological and quite believable in terms of things related to space and flight technology. And the planet itself (one, by the way), constantly refers with its landscape to the different landscapes of 'Star Wars'. There you have Tatooine, Dagobah and Mustafar.

Verdict: Watch. Better, of course, in the theater, but Zurg (the cartoon villain) locked us behind an impenetrable laser shield, so, at home with the family. It's good for kids to know that it's possible to love without being told to, and that mistakes are just milestones on our journey through life, not the end of the world.

And that the pursuit of recognition and 'neediness' can lead you to the dark side.

And that good will triumph over evil.
