Godzilla vs Kong 4K 2021

Kong and a group of scientists set off on a dangerous journey in search of the giant's home. Among them is the girl Jia, the only one who knows how to communicate with Kong. After the monstrous in its meaninglessness megalomaniac mess called "Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters", the WB monster universe needed an injection, and taking into account the realities in which the movie world lives now, it should have been carried out very quickly. The patient was perfect for this - you have a crossover of King Kong and Godzilla, monsters familiar to a huge number of viewers, you have (good or bad, it's a matter of taste) solo albums for both of them, you have the opportunity to arrange a total apocalypse during a collision these Titans. The irony is that almost all of these introductory notes were relevant for the sequel to Godzilla, which did not stop the carnival of the collision of huge monsters from turning into a family drama about the strange affairs of Millie Bobby Brown. The bad news is that her character is still in this MCU, which provokes the appearance in the crossover of a completely meaningless secondary line, as if flown here from the new Spider-Man films. And there is nothing wrong with a pretty awkward and shy humor, but there is no Tom Holland here, but there are huge monsters throwing military fighters at each other, therefore such humoresque looks as alien as possible and is cut off from the general rhythm and mood.

The good news is that the creators realized that it is still better to lurch towards the Kongo "Skull Island", so the emphasis is again on the title characters and smaller monsters from their environment, and not on ecoterrorists, families, families of ecoterrorists and random crying people. By minimizing the human presence in the frame, the scriptwriters even render a service to the characters, because the less their story is here, the more efficiently it works. That the hero of Alexander Skarsgard, who looks unusual but interesting in the role of an eccentric scientist, that the sinister character of Demian Bichir, evokes some kind of empathy precisely because in their importance they are located only after the two real giant stars of this film. This honesty with your audience even allows you to forgive the conventions of the script, in some places openly torn off by the laws of gravity and common sense.

Under the rolling and epic tunes from Junkie XL, the giants in Hong Kong are causing such a riot that only their heels sparkle. They do not try to hide a huge budget from the viewer - as in Skull Island, almost all battle scenes take place in the daylight, and epileptic flickering and "bang-bang, vjuuuh" are minimized. It is noticeable that the writers really tried to come up with some interesting things to pump up the dynamics between the monsters, and therefore the local "sea battle" and other combat scenes look fresh and exciting. But in addition to loud and noisy scenes, attention is paid to the "human" side of the monsters, especially Kong, who formally acts here almost as a defender of humanity against the suddenly angry Godzilla. The homages towards the 2005 film from Peter Jackson look appropriate, touchingly playing on the audience nostalgia. Everything here honestly works to entertain the viewer, leaving questions about the value and unforgettableness of this crossover solely to the judgment of time. Just as Kong and Godji are honest with humanity, sometimes they are forced to give him in a presumptuous face, so the movie about them follows the same path, which only pleases.
