Shy and melancholic Joel lives an unremarkable gray and dull life. But one day, instead of his usual work route, the young man suddenly takes a train in a different direction and rushes to the sea. On the sandy shore, Joel spots a girl with bright blue hair. On the way back, they meet in the train car and the guy realizes that he and Clementine have a lot in common, as if he already knows this girl.
