4k movies reviews
The painting "The Risen" (or "Resurrection") tells about the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Yeshua). In the center of the plot is the Roman tribune Claudius, who must at all costs find the body of the crucified messiah ...

I loved the Christian message of Kevin Reynolds' The Risen. Nowadays, such tapes are rarely published, even with millions of budgets (this is not De Laurentiis' Bible of 1966). In my memory, only Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ.

Yes, the film is far from a masterpiece, moreover, many interesting events from the life of Jesus Christ described in the Bible, which could be adequately played up, were left without attention (for example, a textbook episode where Jesus Christ walked on water). The form of the picture is also very simplified, but here I would not find fault, because now society is surprisingly primitive. And if you also leave the biblical rhetoric or make the characters voluminous, the events are somewhat contradictory - such a film will not be watched at all. Whether in Europe or in the United States.

Moreover, one should not forget that this is only one of the interpretations. In this case, Kevin Reynolds.

But there are significant advantages in the film:

- The spring of the storyline spins from the side of the Roman tribune (Joseph Fiennes). This is already interesting, because all biblical events are always presented exclusively by the Jews, to see these events through the eyes of a Roman is already original;

- A simple form (this is also a minus), which allows even children or adolescents to think about what is happening on the screen, as well as the absence of extremely violent scenes, not to mention eroticism, which in recent years has become allowed pornography of films;

- Christian subtext, though real. The influence of neo-Manichaeism in the picture is almost not felt, as is the fight against God (now only the lazy does not throw a stone at God, because all the 'intellectuals' strive to be different - to throw stones at Christ or his religious concept, which, by the way, is still the same not realized in life, since we are, at best, Christian pagans). In addition, events are presented in a moral vein, which is important;

- Real shooting on location (in any case, I did not feel the "green screen");

- The theme of the main character's search for truth (truth cannot be taken on a silver platter, and the hero gradually comes to her with the viewer, which definitely gives rise to an additional genre of theological detective story);

- In some places, very high quality musical accompaniment by Roque Banos ("In the Heart of the Sea").

Therefore, summing up, I will add that I liked the picture, but the society most likely will not accept it or forget it.
