David Wagner is a child of the ’90s. But he’s fascinated by the TV show *Pleasantville*, set in the 1950s in a small town of the same name, where everyone is chic, cheerful, and virtuous, and life is wonderfully pleasant. Mesmerized by this utopian world, David imagines himself in “Pleasantville,” where he could finally be rid of his flighty, boy-crazy sister Jennifer. And one evening, life takes a bizarre turn: a strange TV repairman hands David an unusual remote control that sends him and his sister straight to Pleasantville. The visitors’ visit did not go unnoticed by the town, miraculously changing the fates of its residents.
