Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 4K 2006

Once again in a surreal world, the dashing captain Jack Sparrow suddenly finds out that he is indebted to the legendary captain of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones. Jack must solve this problem as soon as possible, otherwise he is threatened with eternal damnation and a slave existence after death. On top of that, the wedding of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann is disrupted, who are forced to keep Jack company in his misadventures...

I. Before sailing:

The first part of the adventures of the brave Captain Sparrow gathered a lot of money around the world, which allowed fans to hope for the continuation of the pirate saga, and the producers heeded the audience's expectations, throwing all their efforts into creating a new mega-hit. As usual, fearing that the audience is not very "correct" about sequels and other joys of cinema, the producers decided to name the project - "Dead Man's Chest", which appeared in the famous pirate song back in Stevenson's Treasure Island. In general, the song was about an island called Dead Man's Chest, which got its name from the fact that coffins with dead pirates were thrown from it. But readers understood the phrase literally, and meant an ordinary chest of gold, which was once buried by a pirate, who eventually threw back his hooves.

The producers immediately appointed the unforgettable Gore Verbinski as the captain of the film crew, who skillfully worked on the first part of the franchise, and also filmed earlier The Mexican (where the spouses were played by Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt) and Mouse Hunt (which told about a very brave and smart mouse who fought with two idiots from the Twoleg squad).

Also, the producers decidedly left the former merry screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, who came up with a lot of details in the first part, in order to develop the plot of the continuation later, if possible.

The same Dariusz Wolski was appointed to the cameramen, and the composer Hans Zimmer tirelessly began to develop the musical theme "Pirates ...".

II. On my way:

But the main unknown during the filming of the blockbuster was the cast.

If Johnny Depp with gold teeth, all sorts of nonsense in his hair and a bandana, with rings on his arm, and the usual signature grin and gait, still playfully played the image of Jack Sparrow, and Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, having memorized their text, pretended to be walking dolls of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, and they were technically played along by Jonathan Pryce in the role of Governor Swann, the rest of the situation was pretty lame. The hero of Geoffrey Rush (Cap Barbossa) left the maritime space, as did Commodore Norrington, who disappeared after a failure on the love front.

Verbinski faced the task of captivating the audience with something radically new.

Of course, the screenwriters came to the rescue, offering as many as three new characters and the brilliant return of old acquaintances.

The first to appear on the big screen was a certain Mr. Beckett, who, as we will learn later, is the general manager of the East India Company. The villain is ordinary, but vile - hungry and thirsty for great honor and exorbitant power. Fate prepared to play this very unambiguous and flat character Tom Hollander ("Gosford Park"; "Darwin Award").

Further, out of nowhere, a gypsy witch appears to the viewer, who has been friends for many years with Captain Sparrow himself. Tia Dalma, that's her name. She was wonderfully portrayed by Naomie Harris (having nothing to do with Rosemary Harris, Peter Parker's aunt performer from Spider-Man). This image of a witch was supposed to make the audience laugh, and the scriptwriters' plan was a success.

But the formidable owner of The Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones, truly became the main scenario weapon. It was completely (almost) produced by computer means, and its image was embodied in reality, dressed in a special suit, by the magnificent British actor Bill Nighy ("Love Actually"; "Notes on a Scandal"). Jones and his sea brethren looked much more powerful than the Barbossian dead. The appearance of Davy Jones struck the audience's imagination, captured him.

If the audience did not know the above three characters, then they recognized the following characters by watching the first part of the pirate movie novel.

First of all, this is Bootstrap Bill, the father of Will Turner - a miserable servant of Jones, working out his time on the ship. He was personified in the movie by Stellan Skarsgård (Dogville).

Then, Norrington (Jack Davenport), boatswain Gibbs (Kevin McNally) and many other minor characters can be named as familiar characters. But the feature of the film was the return of Geoffrey Rush, famously biting off his long-awaited piece of juicy apple.

Gore Verbinski's clear emphasis on a series of fun and not very adventures of Captain Sparrow's team; crazy screenplay by Elliott and Rossio; wild special effects recreating Davy Jones and his huge cuttlefish pet; the eccentric game of Johnny Depp and the entire acting group did their job - rushed to victory over the audience ...

III. Leadership Battle:

Having entered the battlefield for the American box office, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 immediately took victory over such films as Superman Returns (Bryan Singer), The Devil Wears Prada (the threat, albeit a small one, was represented by Meryl Streep), Click : With remote control for life", "Cars" (John Lassiter), "Supernacho" (long-suffering Jack Black) and others.

In general, the second part of the pirate fun around the world has collected neither more nor less - a billion,
second only to the unsinkable Titanic by James Cameron and the undivided steward of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by Peter Jackson.

IV. Arrival:

The second part smoothly and calmly arrived at the temporary destination, for it was outlined to continue to surf the dangerous seas and lands - this time the returned cap Hector Barbossa, controlling the blind kittens Will and Elizabeth, will have, paradoxically, to bring Captain Jack Sparrow back to life ...
