4k movies reviews
He is the one who survived, he is the legend, he is the one whose name remains unknown throughout the film. He is Max Rokatansky. And he continues to fight in a world empty after a nuclear war! Released four years earlier, the second part set a much higher bar than the first. Now the franchise has already acquired a truly post-apocalyptic character, and not a gangster showdown on the outskirts of the city.

In "Warrior of the Road" there were many chases, explosions and fights. It was expected similar from the third film, however, this time the flight of thought changed direction. The brutality has become less, in connection with which the age limit has even decreased. Moreover, in the third part there are elements of fabulousness associated with fanatical teenagers waiting for their prophet, who will take them to the Land of Tomorrow. It would seem that this should be upsetting, but ... The transition from the harsh reality to something innocently childish is done very smoothly, and nothing of the shown is beyond doubt. Yes, after a global catastrophe, the world has become harsh, but you can always, at any time, find a hotbed of joy, where drops of past happy times have survived. And, in addition, the pleasant sensations that remain after watching it seem to dictate that this is exactly how it should be with Mad Max - the story, which began so sadly, is approaching a good ending, in which there are hopes for the return of former happiness.

However, the main thing for which this film, like the two previous ones, has won honor and respect, is a carefully crafted post-apocalyptic world. The details of the costumes, buildings, technology - in all this, it seems, there is nothing special, but it was chosen with such diligence that I want to delve deeper into what is happening on the screen. Through such characters as Auntie Entity, the Master, Blaster and Savannah Nix, the world shown is revealed even more fully, watching the characters, we are more immersed in the atmosphere of the film. Not every director manages to achieve this.

The acting of the actors here can be characterized by only one word - sincerity. In addition to Mel Gibson and Bruce Spence, who fell in love with the second part, Tina Turner (who also performed a couple of great compositions for the soundtrack), Angello Rossitto, and Robert Grubb distinguished themselves here. However, against the background of Helen Badi, who played the Knicks, everything fades. Although her role is not so significant, the actress literally lives on the screen, apparently inspired by the filming process itself. I especially praise her.

What is the bottom line. Mad Max 3: Under the Dome of Thunder is a unique example of how reducing the violence did not hurt the franchise, which was originally intended for an adult audience. For this reason, it is difficult to compare her with "Warrior of the Road", but I am happy to give her the highest rating.
