I remember this movie for a very, very long time, even from an old videotape, which, unfortunately, I have not preserved now. I don't remember what happened to her, but I remember the movie very well, despite the fact that I last saw it two years ago, and since then I have never watched it. This movie is quite old, it was filmed a long time ago, back in the 80s, and it can even be seen from the manner of filming. And I can say that these very manners only decorate the cinema, give it a special shade of fear and atmosphere, the film breathes it. Old horror films, back in the 80s, 70s and even later, always somehow skillfully and skillfully conveyed the atmosphere to the audience, and even though they did not have special effects, they were able to scare thanks to the efforts of the creators.

Dan O'Bannon's name, I think, is familiar to everyone who has seen the movie Return of the Living Dead. It was this man who put his hand to the script of this film, and I am sure that it is largely thanks to him that he turned out to be so unique and scary. The difference between these two films is huge, and it's silly to compare them, in my opinion. Two different pictures. And if 'Return of the Living Dead' is a black comedy, then in this film, in fact, there is little funny. Here, more is given to fear, violence and all other qualities. Sometimes, some scenes generally look disgusting and unpleasant, for example, the scene of sticking a syringe in the eye. Although this happens quickly enough, the sensations are still not pleasant.

The very first scene in the film, I remember very distinctly how it scared me, probably, it scared me much better than other scary scenes, despite the fact that there are some harder ones. I do not know why this happened, but I will remember it for a long time, and even now I remember it with some shudder. Time flies, years pass, new technologies appear, tangential films, they decorate them, make them more spectacular and beautiful, scarier and more spectacular, funnier and more interesting. In ten years, completely different films will be made, with new technology, and there will be horror films. But even such films should not be forgotten, because everything began with them, different genres and techniques were born, which the creators use in their films.

How do I remember this picture? First of all, to me personally, she was remembered for her idea. Maybe it will not seem very interesting to someone, but for that time it was very good, and one might even say that it was somewhat original. And the dead here are not the same as it might seem at first glance. And you can also note an unusual course of action. Everything is predictable at first, and then it gets more complicated.

In my opinion, fans of horror films from those times should like this film, or at least be interested. It makes an impression, it is shot very well. And in general, in fact, the place where all the actions take place, namely, Potters Bluff, is somehow strange and unusual in itself. It seems to be a normal city, normal residents, their own problems, all their own, but it seems that something is hiding there. This case, the investigation of all these mysteries, is the responsibility of the sheriff of the city. The owner of the funeral home joins him. Although they know that there is a lot to expect on the way to unraveling all this horror, they still will not stop and try to see it through to the end.
