Ryan's Daughter 4K 1970

Northern Ireland, 1916. Rosie (Sarah Miles), the daughter of village innkeeper Thomas Ryan, dreams of a pure and noble love. For lack of other suitable candidates, she sets her loving gaze on her former teacher, the widower Charles Shonessy (Robert Mitchum), naively hoping to fulfill all the illusions and secret desires of a young woman’s heart. Disappointment sets in immediately after the wedding, as Charles—reserved in his feelings and slow to act—is unable to give Rosie passionate happiness. However, the arrival in the village of the handsome British officer Randolph Dorian (Christopher Jones), wounded on the front lines in Europe, awakens in the young woman a thirst for mad love, leading to a dramatic turn of events against the backdrop of the Irish struggle for independence.
