Sixteenth century. Japan is engulfed in clan wars for control of Kyoto.
In the midst of one of the most important campaigns, the leader of the most powerful clan, Shingen, dies. To prevent panic among the troops and give the enemy no cause for celebration, his close associates decide not to announce his death, but to use his double instead.
