Depeche Mode: M 2025
Depeche Mode: M is a thrilling cinematic concert film directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias. It combines live performances by the legendary band Depeche Mode at three sold-out concerts in Mexico City at the Foro Sol stadium in September 2023 (as part of the Memento Mori tour, which attracted over 200,000 fans) with profound reflections on music, mortality, and Mexican death traditions.
The film immerses the viewer in the heart of Mexican culture, where pain, memory, joy, and dance merge into a single whole, reflecting the themes of the album Memento Mori—the first since the departure of co-founder Andy Fletcher in 2022. The visually stylish editing alternates powerful concert footage of hits such as "Enjoy the Silence," "Personal Jesus," and "Never Let Me Down Again" with interpretive inserts and archival material, creating an atmosphere of emotional depth and authenticity.
