In early 20th century Czechoslovakia, a gravely ill chemist recalls his discovery of a powerful explosive and how it landed in the hands of anarchists.

An American journalist travels to Europe, to Prague, in search of his chick friend, who has suddenly disappeared. After some time, his lifeless body is found on the street, while his soul continues the search for his fiancée.
