Filming at the South Pole during the polar night is a true challenge, with temperatures dropping below -70°C/-95°F. Cables snap, displays freeze, and even cameras and gear require constant heating and modification to withstand the harsh conditions. Many shots in this 8K Video Ultra HD were captured over 24 hours or more to document a full revolution of the Earth. Shot by Benjamin Eberhardt, an experiment operator and astrophysicist at the IceCube Neutrino Telescope at the Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station, who spent a full winter and over a year on the ice.
